Hi,
Now that RDB has released my take is very short and sweet:
1.It's a cult film made for today's generation
2.It's an awesome and brilliant piece of direction, excellent
camerawork.
3.Amazing performances by the starcast
4.It's gonna be a surefire superhit..i am student of IIM,Lucknow and
believe me in the past 3-4 days ppl have seen more than twice this
film including me..the whole campus is buzzing with Rang De Basanti
all over and in all the hostels the songs are being played with full
gusto..So i thnk the public mood in general can be gauged by this as u
know the average age of a movie goer is like 20-35 years and so i thnk
the film has already generated a huge response and is on it's way to
become a massive hit...Some proof on last count 91% recommendation
from 46 reviews on mouthshut.com
So i thnk the movie part is done now let's talk abt the music after
the film has released:
Well being an ARR fan and also for the others this was a real treat
for cinegoers...what a score and the ppl who were lashing out at the
music must now remain silent since it is nothing less than a
masterpiece...it is very difficult to compose songs which gels so well
into the narrative...ohh gr8!!!When the casting was being shown it
started off with a remixed version of Khalbali Hain Khalbali..boy i
was just blown over by this amazing piece...believe me i think SOny
BMG should consider to take out a version which contains this remixed
version..believe me it will rock the entire nation instantly..a huge
potential chartbuster..i hope they come out with a full version of the
track..
Parts where i really felt the music was so appropriate
1.Khoon Chala sang by Mohit Chauhan..wow the picturisation and the apt
feeling of the song got heaps of praises and people started to clap in
the hall
2.Paathshaala:initially i felt there was no place for the remixed
version but the way it fitted with guys moving around in the jeep was
so natural
3.Roobaru:What a timing of this song..Can u think of any other song at
that point of time when the youth decided to take on things
seriously..so inspiring yet so youthful
4.Luka Chupi:Well tears will automatically roll down when you hear
this song where a mother is in front of her son's dead body...ohhh it
was so emotional and touching...
5.The full fledged song to be picturised is the title track so
colourful and an enjoying experience...great piece of choreography and
nice bit of camerawork
6.Tu Bin Bataaye:Absolutely romantically picturised...especially when
the male vocals start and look at the picturisation...in one
word:Heaven
BGMS
1.Well all of them were brilliant but the best part was when the
transitions were taking place from the past to present..Mr. Rahman was
blending the freedom struggle music with a passionate youthful score
with the present..I challenge which MD can do this in India if not the
world??
2.When the guys first meet after Waheeda Rahman goes into
comma..absolutely inspring...
3.The music when the past was being juxtaposed with the present where
all the characters were being shown to be freedom fighters..ohh a
great composition...
guys i am really finding it difficult to find words to describe my
experience when i was relating the music with the movie...it's really
difficult to explain it transfers you to a completely different
world...
Only 2 minuses:
1.Khalbali song was relegated heavily into the background:this is an
amazing composition and it was shown very little in the movie..i thnk
Mr. Mehra could have taken a gamble in picturising this song
separately..there wd have been a huge cheer in the audience thts for
sure..
2.I missed the Alaap of the Luka Chupi song one of the highlights of
the track
Anyways i am not complaining they r just my observations since the
director is the best person to judge.
But overall guys just focus a bit more on the music when the film
unfolds i am sure it will make an everlasting impact on you and make
you feel what a talent our maestro is...Hats off to you Mr. Rahman and
thanks a lot for this refreshing and passionate experience:
Waiting for your comments and feedback:
Regards,
Anujit
N.B.:Go an watch the movie at the earliest...
