A colourful start for Naresh Naresh makes his debut as a playback singer with "Rang De Basanti" ARRIVES WITH A BANG Aamir Khan and Soha Ali Khan in the song "Masti Ki Pathshala" If you can't keep yourself from humming "Roobaroo", the super hit number from "Rang De Basanti", then just blame it on singer Naresh and the music director A.R. Rahman. Rahman is in habit of making good music and drawing the best out of singers. Naresh was among the top 25 in Channel V's Super Singer contest. Besides "Roobaroo", Naresh has sung two other songs in the movie. One is the fun-filled "Masti Ki Pathshala" and the other a soft romantic number "Tum Bin" with Madhushree. Before this, Naresh had sung a Tamil song "Mailiregae." While judging the Super Singer contest, A. R. Rahman had promised to make Naresh sing in films. But Naresh was quite sceptical about it. He says, "I was shocked because I was out of the contest and wasn't sure that Rahman would call me. Losing after coming that far was a bit disheartening." Academics and music could not go hand in hand for long. So Naresh discontinued his CA after completing his graduation from SIS College of Commerce and Economics. A complete Mumbaikar, he loves to hang out at Juhu beach with friends. He always loved showbiz and wanted to be part of it. He says, "I have no regrets about not winning the Super Singer contest as it was a dream to work with A. R. Rahman, which has come true. What more can I expect?" He is grateful to Channel V for giving him a chance to prove himself. About working with Rahman, he says, "He is a genius indeed but in the studio, he is more like a friend. He makes his co-workers feel comfortable."
