Hi all, Just wanted to give the fans group a quick email on the Rahman event at Stanford Univ last night.
Overall, the event was a disappointment since some odd Stanford professor spent the first 45 minutes discussing Rahman's music giving no special insights whatsoever. Her questions to Rahman were also boring to say the least. The audience questions were repeats of questions he has answered a million times "whats your favorite song?" who is your musical inspiration" etc. The Q&A with Rahman lasted for about 45 minutes. I ofcourse was extremely thrilled to see and meet Rahman in flesh for the first time. I even got his autograph along with Salman Ahmed's (Junoon). Rahman's answers to the questions both from the mediator and the audience revealed a lot about him. Rahman is an absolute gem of an individual. Despite being a musical genius and a national icon, his answers revealed humility, respect and thoughtfulness. Rahman seems excited about his upcoming projects including the LOTR musical!
