This Yahoo group has a lot of members and some decent activity, but it feels like threads get abandoned after a few days, and topics are fractured and fragmented. There are several different threads on the same topic. For me, searches time out after a short while. What about forming a regular phpbb or Simple Machines forum? I feel this would alleviate some of the problems and be more conducive to long-term threads. Of course, someone has to host it...
