conception that film was again withheld due to financial constraints

the trailer that we got was not that good to feel the greatness of
the music.
> 4. next came the 03:25 min trailer which depicted the excerpts
of almost all the songs in the film. that was a very soothing fact.
the review for the music after hearing the music was excellent. v
came to know that the music and songs have not been remade from any
rahmanical source or songs. another notable fact was all the songs
had some sort of a catchy music that was portrayed in the trailer.
for example, the illami song intro music was used superbly in the
beginning and the end of the trailer. also, the musical genius' cry
in theeyil vizuntha song gained a great appeal over the masses. the
alap ooooah ooooah gained significant recognition along with its
catchy thaterical music, the catchy thathom thomthom thom bit and
kaatril song interlude music was also used in the trailer. overall,
the music was fresh and we even felt it.

worthy to be considered.

the album.
> 4. really, those who claim the songs are remakes - they have to
be whipped off. really guys, u will get such a feel when u hear all
these extraordinary compositions. scoring music is a gift that
someone has. scoring hit songs is definitely a brilliance. scoring
variety in all songs in an intention to satisfy all those fans
irrespective of anything everything and to give the songs a great
feeling, touch, compositions, percussional touch, the flavor of
excellence in a subtle rhythemical sense.... man, ONLY the musical
genius would do it. and of course he did it!!!!!!!!!
> how this musical album is different from other musicals of the
genius himself..
> let me confess with u guys.. when i heard RDB, i knew that songs
would definitely appeal to the masses but i thought that "it needs
time". ofcourse, it needed time and its a blockbuster now!!!
> when i heard ah aah aah (anbae aaruyirae).. i was pleased by the
intro song sung by the musical genius, attracted towards mayiliragae
in third to fourth time of hearing, and then varugirai and
maramkothiyae songs entering into senses later. the SPECIALITY of GF
remains in the following fact:
> some part of every song in the album was neatly involved in the
trailer and it immediately caught the masses. as i already mentioned
there was some elemental memerisation in every song. belive me guys,
all the songs (either the pallavi or anupallavi or saranam of the
song) were appealing in the first hearing of the songs. i had the
feeling that the musical has something great to deliver. result: it
delivers than what had ought to do... in other words, BREAK THE
BARRIERS of musical extravagance! these r not words but the feel
that i get from my heart after hearing GF for almost 50 - 60 times
(or may be more). as i type this review, i m hearing the GF songs...
(theeyil vizhuntha song sung amazingly by ARR is playing)...
> THE ALBUM IS GEM OF ITS KIND... ACCORDING TO ME, A BEST MUSICAL
AFTER KANDUKONDAEN KANDUKONDAEN... i havent written such a long
review for any musical. even for any of the ARR's musical. but this
album motivates me to write on and on...
> okay let me start the review of the songs in the album. i m
going to start the review with theeyil vizhuntha song as it's my
favorite song in recent years. more of its review below. i m not
going to rate every song. all songs surely score the maximum
available points. that's the reality. all the song listing is "not"
going to be in the order seen in the CD... also it doesnt mean that
i have listed in the order of my liking.
> theeyil vizhuntha - 06:17 mins
> create the following scenario/atmosphere before hearing this
song, if possible. a serene atnosphere where u r all alone and play
this song it a volume near to the maximum or have a CD-man and hear
this song lying in a cot/bed/couch etc... u will dwell in the land
of "THE MAN THE MUSIC THE MAGIC"... what a blessed voice does the
musical genius have.. greatly transcending voice.. brilliant
composition. v get a feel that the song is rendered effectively. a
perfect compostion with apt use of bass guitars adds more to the
brilliance of the song. most importantly, the voice of the musical
genius himself. the cry that he makes in the beginning of the song
and inbetween the song cant be explained in words. simply superb!
this song is dedicated to the importance of mother in each and
everyone's life. a very transcending composition where u will get
along with the song immdiately. lyrics of this song is very catchy.
it gels with the tune very well. (actually it's the case with
> all the songs, anyway it's worth to mention in this song). an
instrument (i think its flute) used in the interlude is pleasing,
adding more to the song. hear the following lines from 03:30 to
03:45 of the song "ennaku aethum aanathuna, unakku veru pillai
undu... unaku aethum aanathuna, enaku veru thayiruka .... and then
rahmanical cry..." BRILLIANT.... entirely captivating. ONE OF THE
BEST RAHMAN'S SOLO... one more important issue: i strongly condemn
the one who replied that this song is a remake of "mera yaar mila"
from saathiya. one who raised questioned could be absolved. but the
one who replied "yes.. it's a remake"... man, how could u get the
heart to give such an unreliable information for the song that is
going to be claimed as the best song of all times... mind ur replies
hereafter.. i hope other rahmaniacs would comply with me.
> illamai - 05:19 mins
> very stong percussion used in this song. excerpt of the music is
used extensively in the trailer and it was very catchy. after
hearing the entire song. the song is adorable. especially the
thathom thomthom thom bit.. its superb. sure to catch the kids after
this song is aired in television programs. also, the song has
an "elegant transition". hear this song in high watt speaker and a
good audio drive. if u have woofers, then the song is defintiely a
party song... a great foot-tapping number. it will make u dance.
also, the initial mixing when the female music is effectively mixed
saying "hello hello hello..." .. u will defintiely love it. i hope
this song should be the introduction song in the film. sure to rock
everyone irrespective of the genre of fans.. be it ARR fan or ajith
fans. in other, the song would definitely rock anyone who sees the
film and they would hum "thathom thomthom" bit...
> illamai remix - 04:06 mins
> a rahmanical remix. good rendition by blaaze and suresh peters..
suresh peters??????? yes it is.. the CD label says so..i was able to
hear a shade of his voice but the entire song was enthralled by
heavy composition. typical remix stuff... when u hear the
lyrics "music for the masses ... rocking everybody.. right here
right now", u will feel the "strength" of the song i.e. the vitality
of the song. also the "thathom thathom" bit is at its utmost
degree/extremity. in the interlude "thiki thom thom thom" (02:17)..
i hope blaaze voice is mixed in a funny way in the song (02:35 -
03:10). its very catchy. in this interval (02:55 - 03:10) .. here
the importance of "bass guitar"... tranquil!. s guys, bass guitar
and percussions rule the song. finally (last minute of the song)
where u hear the "thathom" bit in one layer and the english lyrics
in an entirely different stlye. simply superb! just turn on this
song. leave the rest to ur mind to decide! it would automatically
> instruct/guide u to dance! absilutely rocking remix. i think its
first of its kind in tamil... taal remix was fantastic. "thotaal
poomalarum" from "New" was a remix but it was not dominated by
percussions as it has been used in this song. the songs ends
fiercely with series of english lyrics with the word blaaze.. cool!
man, the MUSIC rocks!!!

> DEFINTION OF MUSICAL GENIUS, SONG IS SIMPLY SPELLBOUNDING...
MINDBLOWING... SIMPLY USE ANY ANY ANY HIGH-FI WORD TO PRAISE THIS
SONG MY DEAR RAHMANIACS... ELSE, COIN A NEW WORD AS I AM GOING TO
DO... - (SPLENDID + MARVELOUS) + FANTABULOUS... A FRESH SONG... many
brief reviews have already been shared in the group about the
greatness of this song. i think anyone who knows more abt carnatic
song can comment more professionally than me. i dont have any words
to praise this song. the song that attracted me the most in the
trailer was this song. expecially the male alap "thom thom thana
nana"... a strong carnatic flavor.. u know guys... songs like this
are RARELY found in any musical. this song crosses the limits set by
sangamam, minssara kanna (padayappa). the BEST carnatic composition.
i really wonder how ARR scores defintie variety in songs. illamai
song and this song are at either extremes. man, that song is a top
to bottom rap but this song is an extreme carnatic
> flacor. that y ARR is called musical genius! importance of the
song lies in the layers the song has. u can very well feel it in the
intervals listed below: referred to the song (innisai remix 1) -
layer 1 (02:07 - 02:21) layer 2 (02:22 - 02: 43) layer 3 (02:45 -
03:04) layer 4(03:06 - 03: 25) layer 5 (04:44 - 05:03). it was
entirely suprising to hear the female alap "achil vaartha
pathumaiyum neeyae" before the paalavi of the song... simply superb.
a firm start to the song. also a perfect singers in the song. there
was a comment that naresh iyer's voice sounds like unnikrishnan.. s
that's true. but strength of naresh iyer lies in the elegant
pronunciation of the words. unni is best singer too. i think naresh
is an excellent choice for this song. mahathi's voice is mesmerising
too. most importantly, the lyrics of this song! a revolution i would
say. when it comes to ARR and vairamuthu, they do ecperiment
differenlty for atleast one song in their album. few example -
> jeans - kannodu kaanbadhelam; jodi - velli malarae; GF - innisai
song. there is a terminolgy called as innisai alapadai. it means the
rhymical words in tamil. they have the capability to be used by the
poet extensively in the olden days poet. it is a gramatical word.
the song uses few words that falls in this category in the
anupallavi of the song. also the shift from carnatic to a
conventional rhythm in beteween the songs i.e. from layer 2 to layer
3 is absolutely unexpected that too in a carnatic song. simply
superb again. the musical genius is innovative though! obviously...
innisai remix 1 is the ultimate. innisai remix 2 doesnt have some
layers that the remix 1 has. but equally pleasant to hear. the plain
innisai song begins with a beautiful chorsd and then raises with
gentle female chorus. this song doesnt have naresh in it. v get a
feel that we r in carnatic festival season. use of percussions is
absolutly scintilatting. especially the mirunthangam.. i would
> like to extend special kudos to the one who played the
miruthangam superbly tuned to the musical genuis composition.
overall, SONG OF THE YEAR....
> kaatril - 06:04 mins
> this song is a haunting melody. a transcending song again.
simppppppppppppppppply superb. i love this song a lot. the trailor
had the song's second musical interlude. it was catchy though. more
importantly a melody accompanied with apt singers. saadhana and SPB
add more beauty to the song. the musical bit "ahae saahiba" after
the first lines do the song is exceptional. then saadhana elevates
the song to a different level. a level where the musical genius
scores greatly. i.e. the follow up of the song. the beat of this
song is so situational. it gives a musical float to us. the strings
paly a very important role in the song. when sadhana sings kaatril
oar vaarthai mithanthu vara kandaen"...the music supresses a bit and
gives more importance to the rhythm. "Rahman doesnt let the songs
out until he is completely satisfied with the result of the song" -
a famous quote (meaning is the same but i dont remember the exact
words). after hearing the complete song from KM musiq
> video release, this song was entirely suprising to be heard in
the CD. minor changes but they were obvious. this minor change adds
a decent elevation to the song. again, the song adds to the variety
of the album.
> kamma kamma (oooooaaaahh oooooaaaahh) - 05:29
> get up and start dancing!!! after the film releases we can
surely expect the kids to hum this ooooooooooaaaaaaahhh
oooooooaaaaahh gradually. very very very catchy. the musical genius
has "uniuqe element" in each song to catch the listener. again heavy
drum beats. a typical recent genre song. the interlude has the
genius' programming stuff as usual. the female chorus in the
anupallavi is very good. high pitch female voice is suprising and
rendered effetively. very nice to hear. lyrics are catchy either.
quite rhymical. compeltely unexpected song fromt the musical
whizkid. man, the oooooaaaaaaaaaah ooooaaaaaah thing is comepletely
mesmerising. i am currently hearing to that song simultaneously as i
pen this song's review. also check out the first musical interlude
01:32 - 02:01 - the one which was used int the trailor. it's
musically very catchy. also the instances when the female voice
chews the kamma kamma alternatively is very new and refreshing. the
fact i would
> like to stress here is "musical elements have been added to the
pace of each song"... also check out the ooooooooaaaaaaah
oooooooooaaaaaaahh when naresh and the female singer sings
simultaneously. totally a powerful composition. a song with a
definite energy... going to ROCK everyone for sure... the song also
has a cheeky ending too.. check that out!
> deepavali (kothapuram) - 05:20 mins
> kids voice have some role to play in this song. "thinam thinam
depavali" sung by the singer is routing rendition. s, it is... the
flute from 0:25 - 0:33 is superb. lyrics - completely verving. when
the kids sing "ithu thothapuram doi" it's nice and refreshing to
hear. also the nee than pa alaap in the middle of the song - man,
simply rejuvenating. ehar this song in a CD-man, with headphones u
will find the additional programming where the musical bits run
right to left. this adds random beauty to the song. musical
percussions in the lines of the previous song - kamma kamma. this
definitely does not mean that both are similar or some sort of it..
NOTHING like that. both songs are in the conventional genre handling
wisely by the musical genius. it should have the demand from the
director to have songs to meet the expectations of the public in the
current film industry songs (plainly - to have some masala songs in
the end of the film to hook the viewers to the seat)...
> the beauty is that these songs cen % have a rahmanical touch.
> (MY) VERDICT: unique variety in each song. i dont think so there
could be other type of song that couls be inveloved in any musical.
it has melody, rap, remix, transcending sad song, most importantly
carnatic, and then 2 masala songs... what more one would expect to
make a musical album wholesome? most most most importantly, all have
the tendency to catch the genes of the listners and make them hum a
certain part of the song in the very first hearing of the song...

RDB rocks... y to follow it? allow the music to grow on u and then
write ur comments. keep in mind, the musical genius has said that he
goes through the mails in the group. so if he sees some
irresponsible comments, imagine how disheartened he would feel?
making music is extremelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy difficult.
just sit in a corner to write few lines and then make some tune to
