Hey Paul, I definitely feel the "Nightmarish" Picturisation for a "dream song" in Ah..Aah was what pulled it down! That Ghajini song was shot on DI.
Whereas the song: Mayilirage... was spoilt to such an extent that it gave people the effect of having seen a "blue" film (Juz kidding). I mean it was like kids stuff for such a great song and in the small screen (TV), it looks "ah..aah..ful". I can't agree with the others in writing off "Suttum Vizhi" as an Ordinary, Effortless, and Simple song. Its simplicity is its forte. The instrumentation was kept at bare minimum and the free-flowing rhythm of the song, coupled with simple and clear lyrical quality - all helped the song and it is another (peacock) feather in HJ's cap..! Surya-Asin combo was far better than the S J Surya-Nila and that has some effect on the recall value of any song. One example for this is the song: "Unnodu Vaazhaatha Vaazhvu" from Amarkalam where Ajith- Shalini pair set the screens ablaze..! Thanks for reading.
