Hrithik, Ash perfect for Akbar-Jodha Associated Press | Friday, 10 March , 2006, 18:13 Indian director Ashutosh Gowarikar says top Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai are the ideal leading pair for his new epic Mughal era romance.
He said the script for his movie titled ''Akbar-Jodha'' - set during the 16th century - is ready and the lead actors finalized. Gowarikar told The Indian Express newspaper the movie would focus on how an arranged marriage between Emperor Akbar and his wife later blossomed into love. He has been researching the movie since 2001 and found that few historians talked about Akbar and Jodhabai when they were young. ''It was an arranged marriage, more of a political alliance. But it was a strong, good marriage,'' Gowarikar said. ''The two must have fallen in love later as happens in most arranged marriages. I'm delving into that part of their life.'' He said he decided on Roshan and Rai since both fit the characters. He said Roshan's physique and features exude the elegance needed for a prince's role, while Rai's character requires a blend of strength and beauty. Gowarikar's last ventures also featured big Bollywood stars - Aamir Khan played the lead in Oscar nominated ''Lagaan'' and Shah Rukh Khan acted in ''Swades.'' http://sify.com/movies/bollywood/fullstory.php?id=14160175 Explore, Experience, Enjoy A.R.Rahman - The Man, The Music, The Magic.
