When Mani commenced his Hindi venture Guru starring Abhishek Bachchan, it brought surprise to many. The star cast for Guru include Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. He was planning to cast either Vivek Oberoi or John Araham for the role of a second hero. However both reportedly declined the offer due to different reasons. As it happened, Mani has now turned to his favorite. Madhavan has been asked to play the all important role in Guru.
