right - it's Palghat Sriram who sang the ending jathis of Minsara
Poove. And as Sushma correctly pointed out, he is the singer of
Thiruppachi Arivaale from Taj Mahal and of Vetrikkodi Kattu from
Padaiyappa. He is also the singer of Nayagara from En Swasa Kaatre
and Love Check from Parthale Paravasam.
In Kadhal Illamal from Taalam (the Anuradha Sriram and Sujatha
version), he sang the chorus parts of the song (Kadhal Illamal Naam
Vaazhvathu Vaazhva!), while Srinivas sang the actual male lines of
the song. And Thayya Thayya from Uyire is sung by both Sriram and
Sukhwinder Singh.
Sriram Parthasarathy (famous for 'Suttum Vizhi' frm Ghajini,
also 'Dhin Dhin Thara' from Poovellam Un Vaasam) has sung 2 songs for
A.R.Rahman as far as I know, they are Athisaya Thirumanam from
Parthale Paravasam and Chittukkuruvi from Parasuram.
I'm quite sure the information I've posted above is correct. Hope it
clears all your doubts. Also, a very very bIg thank you to Sushma for
posting the information, we all now know a lot more about the singers
than we were hoping for.
I just have a small request for the group. It's just that, when
someone posts a question on the yahoogroup, he does it hoping to get
a reliable and correct answer. And in a group that is close to 9000
strong, there is bound to be somebody who can give such an answer
(like Sushma in this case.) I would like to request that when someone
posts a reply, he truly knows what he is saying. Messages with small
errors like Gops' just gives room for correction (which Is a good
thing, unless of course nobody dOEs correct it. After all, a helpful
reply is a helpful reply.); but Utterly Wrong replies (like naming
Srinivas instead of Sriram with a long list of the former's songs) or
Unhelpful replies (like just a name 'Srinivasan' out of the blue),
only serve to irritate and Confuse, not just the one who asked the
question, but a good proportion of the close to 9000 members of the
group. So I would again like to request that if you don't know the
answer to a query put up, you give it a pass and let somebody who
does know reply.
Erm, finally just a question on my part. Athisaya Thirumanam from
Parthale Paravasam is credited to Kalyani Menon, Sujatha, Sriram
Parthasarathy And a Sriram Narayan. The main male voice is obviously
Sriram Parthasarathy, but who is Sriram Narayan? Is he the same as
Palghat Sriram or someone else? I hope someone can shed some light
and provide some info on Sriram Narayan.
