Breaking new ground

 
"PRAY FOR ME BROTHER". No, this is not the title of yet another rap album but it is the name of the new, soon-to-be-released A.R. RAHMAN album "It is a simple song, which is unique in its concept," said Rahman, whose idea behind such an album is to spread the message of humanity. Rahman — his rendition of "Vande Mataram" in 1997 — had people tapping their feet to a hitherto-abandoned patriotic number, hopes that "Pray for Me Brother" will do the same. "It should reach out to people and tell them to respect and preserve humanity," said he. While busy breaking new ground, this composer wants to make music "which will satisfy him and be different" from what he has already achieved.
