I think you got wrong message, because shankar said in an interview (Madhan's Thirai Parvai) with madhan (cartoon specialist) that the music scored by harris in anniyan was satisfafied but not the expectations that he done with Rahman.
Shankar is very keen & curious to cope the one & only Rahman in sivaji and he said that he sees victory of his movie only in rahman's music. If you say that he first tried to bring harris in shivaji then why shankar had gone to see rahman in australian concert and why he had attend in SJ Surya's Aah Aah audio release function and specified that every rahman's song in a piece of fresh cake.
ARR + Shankar = Unbreakable successful combination in the tamil music industry.
so be relax and don't get tensed with these kind of rumours.
