Excellent translation except minor corrections as below:
   
  peetal = brass 
  Keekar = a tree/bush provides no shade in the summer - very dry (whose sticks 
were used for cleaning teeth in the olden days b4 the invention of tooth 
brushes); hence it means that with you the keekar is also like Peepal -  a very 
heavily leafed tree that provides shade and hence cooling effect in the summers 
when peopls sat under it.
  The bitter tasting vegetable is karela pronounced as karaila = bitter gourd 
and is bot the same as keekar.
