hey farheen... wait dont jump into conclusions... its a very different album
altogether... pls dont compare it with dil se, roja, etc... the subject
fiorst of all is not terrorism its different... and wait... mark my words
GURU WILL BE A MILE STONE IN RAHMAN's musical journey... its such a great
album... and i think you have forgotten... no one liked dil se... songs when
it got released... but then alll the songs happend to be a mega hit... its
always the same with rahman... the songs are addictive and always get a late
pick up... i certainly felt rahman has changed a lot and got groomed into a
great composer right from roja... personally i wont compare roja with
anyother album... because wat we need to remember about roja is... for any
person if he is really talented his first venture will be the greatest
always... cos it is not a work done within a small time limit of months...
it is the result of thinkin of several years... and ROJA the record speaks
for it... 200 million copies sold (100 million copies reported
officially)... so dont compare roja with any other album... and guru keepin
these facts in mind... it is no way below par... infact i found a more
matured and a profeesional rahman in guru if i compare it with roja... So
dear farheen wait and see... i m sure u yourself will feel at a later point
of time that my words are true when u really get addicted to guru's music...
which i m sure u will be...

  Dear Farheen

I reckon that you would probably get 'shot' down. Guaranteed, you are
entitled to your own opinion. But I believe the problem rests on the
expectations that you have set for the soundtrack. You can't compare all
soundtracks with those that was done years ago. There will be a few numbers
in the soundtrack that will strike a chord with you and others that don't.
To say it's not as good as the other soundtracks of the ARR and Mani
combination is too much.

Subject: [arr] Guru not as good as other Mani - ARR combos

 Hi guys..
I don't think Guru is as good as other Mani Ratnam - A R Rahman
Combinations. . No doubt, its a great album, but comparing it with
Bombay or Dil se.. or Roja, I don't find it tht much appealing.. Tere
bina is just excellent. marvellous.. No words to describe it.. But
Baazi lagaa let me down.. I think its because of my expectations I had
frm Guru.. I felt the same abt Yuva when it released.. But later,
couldn't get it off my head... Hope the same with Guru..
Waitin for ur replies..

Regards

Faheem.
