Gopal thanks for the clarification.

But still, somehow I fail to see how this 'directly' related to
Rahman. Albeit, he did have long hair then, and did have delays with
producers -- this comment to me seems generic.

I think here the frustration on JL's side is that inspite of coming up
with good melodies, they haven't ever been acknowledged as No 1 yet.
Their point of argument is that they don't change appearances (in
today's world - Himesh) and they don't create fake arrogances (in
today's world - Himesh, yet again) -- to create the impression of
greatness. 

I have read various articles where JL have acknowledged Rahman's music
and its greatness. So, I think this article / quote is totally out of
context.

More over, I also fail to see the need of bringing such cynicism to
the group that should be more focused on great music, and Rahman. Am I
wrong in expecting that?
