And Rahman, too... The news of another big import is that of composer A R Rahman hired by the producers of Sajini. This will be the celebrated music director’s first Kannada movie. “Rahman was excited when we approached him,” says Sonali Nikhil. For Sajini, Rahman will rehash the music which he had composed for Jodi according to the situations, she adds. The songs, five in all, will be sung by those handpicked by the “melody-maker with the Midas touch”. Vasundhara Das, Kailash Kher, Shreya Goshal, Srinivas and Sujatha will lend their voices to lyrics by Beluru Ramamurthy, Jayanth Prahlad, Kaviraj and others. Though the movie, starring Dhyan, Sharmila, Anant Nag, Bhavya is slotted for January-end release, Rahman fans needn’t wait long. The music might hit the stores around New Year.
