Maybe ARR is just using less compression on his tracks? This is actually better, since we get a fuller dynamic range. In the US a lot of pop and rock albums are compressed to death, which gives a higher average volume but they have poor dynamic range. The mastering on ARR's albums is fine, no need to change it.
