Director Mani Ratnam film's Guru is
not only making news for its interesting story line but also for its unusual
soundrack which is fast catching the imagination of the regular music buff.
TIMES NOW correspondent Divya Vaidhyanath spoke to the man behind the notes -
the legendary A R
Rahman.

 DV:
Mr Rehman, what has been the response for
Guru?

 AR:

It's been good. In some places, it has climbed to the number one spot. I have
been seeing some clips in the UK too.

 DV: You have
also played a tribute to the great Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan in one of the songs.
How did it feel composing and singing that
song?

 AR:

While I was composing the songs for Guru, I came across Nustrat Fatah Ali Khan's
romantic songs 'Sajna tere bina..' and 'Mast..mast.'I used the lyrics of both
the songs and thought it would be befitting to dedicate it to
him.

 DV: You
are working with Mani Ratnam and Gulzar after a very long time. What was the
chemistry like between the three of
you?

 AR:

A film happens. Nobody can make it happen. So, it happened and we were all very
excited. In fact, there are two songs which we never really used in the film.
But the whole process was really exciting and I am glad that it happened.
