View GURU Music Release - Picture GalleryA.R. Rahman's song ‘Loose Control’ in
RANG DE BASANTI
has been one of the major hits during the year 2006 and it is being talked
about all over the
place. His releasing of an album towards charity has also been the talk of the
town, however
what has not been talked about at all has been the trust which has been set up
by Rahman for
the cause of the girl child in particular and the child in general. And Rahman
has done it
silently, and has decided that a major proceed of his remuneration would go for
cause that he
is espousing.

Do we have some other parallel in the Hindi film industry espousing a cause and
devoting them
through man material and money does not seem to be the case at all. Can one
single instance be
sighted where a stand has been taken and it has Download Preity Zinta
Wallpapersbeen pursued
with after the dust of the media attention has settled down and the news has
been consigned to
the dustbin? A Preity Zinta had picked up a broom after the Mumbai rains to
clear the muck, but
whatever happened to it afterwards. Has somebody tried to do an audit of it? Do
we have a
Richard Gere in the industry who can espouse the cause of the under privileged
as a Richard
Gere has been doing it or for that matter even Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?
This is what makes
them the international stars in the true sense and stars in reality, and sadly
enough with so
much of poverty abject hunger etc., all continuing to manifest our stars
majorly find
themselves content to live in there content make believe worlds of gloss and
glamour. They
seldom try to step out and help the audience which makes them the stars that
they are.

An Amitabh Bachchan does appear for the Polio eradication campaign and so does
a Shah Rukh Khan
but this is more of an isolated incident instead of being a regular feature.
With the
remuneration of the stars Download Baabul Wallpapersassuming obscene
proportions being viewed
from the perspective of the other end of the spectrum, why can a commitment not
be made to part
with a part of the income for a cause of welfare? Support has been given for
political causes
or for particular ideologies, but the commitment towards serving social causes
as a regular
feature is yet to make its roots within the industry, and this is one area
where the industry
lacks woefully in comparison with its big brother the Hollywood. May be the
time has come, and
taking a cue from ‘Loose Control’ song of Rahman, the industry should loose
control on its
money bags to serve the cause of the humanity and the goodwill that it would
generate would be
much more than what is generated through the films.
