Though K Bhagyaraj is an established director himself, he
was zealous about his son Shantanu getting launched by Shankar or Mani Ratnam.
But when an opportunity came in the form of Kalaipuli Thanu's son, he weighed
the pros and cons and decided that Chakkara Katti will be an ideal film for
Shantanu to glide
into Kollywood. But unfortunately the film is getting prolonged for an
extended period of time. Isaipuyal A R Rahman seems to be an important factor
contributing to this delay.
Though Rahman agreed to score music for the film as he immensely liked the
young team and the story, his assignments at Hollywood and Bollywood do not
permit him to complete the scores for Chakkara Katti. Till date only one song
has been recorded for the film. The crew is waiting for Rahman to do the scores
fully. Meanwhile Shantanu has been approached by different production houses.
But as he is bound by the agreement that he has signed with the producer of
this film, he is not able to commit himself to other films. Shantanu sure is in
dire state.
