before all these, it has to first detect that a dvd is there in the drive ... anybody know about any format difference between the PFMB dvd and normal dvds ... (i was even able to play the double sided Rang De Basanti dvd on my drive :()

Hi Ranjith, I think you don't have the required software like PowerDVD or Nero to play the DVD files. These softwares are mostly included in the "Driver CD pack" of DVD Players.
