i agree with ur points...BUT listen to me...
those 3 leaked songs are scratches...its been used for the choregraphy
works...so it will only contain the basic beat & compositions...all the other
loops, interludes, new beats (Rahman's trade mark), instumentation, chorus and
so on will be added in the original track...the audio with the completed final
mixing is not out yet...so get urself be seated until 4th april....

1. va ji sivaji
piece of crap..not only is this song unacceptable by ARR
standards..it would be mediocre comign from any other music
director...at best it sounds ordinary....the beat is stale....the
melody is not catchy....the musical interludes sound so unfinished
and unporfessional...the song defnitley lacks any sense of creative
passion and sounds like it was composed just for the sake of
composing it...also the choice of hariharan to sing the male part was
a misguided one, in my opinion, he belts out way too often..when more
subtle singing could have done...i thin hariharan's a great singer
but not every singer is meant to sing every song...the only part of
the song that i'd rank as a defnite positive is sadhana' sargam's
signing..she sounds great!..the song reminded me a lot of the
mediocre "dholna" from the awful Parasuram..not a good sign
2. Sahara
I liked this one..but it defnielty needs some more work..as in the
previous song..the interludes sound very rushed and highly
reminiscent of previous ARR songs...however, the melody is
gorgeous!..the choice of udit to sing is defnitely unexpected and it
works fairly well...if there is truth to the rumors that the actual
versions is more finished and has ARR and chinmayee doing the vocal
honors...the song will be fantastic....the overall vibe of the song
sounds like "poorkalam engay" fron thenali (GREAT song)...some of the
loops sounded similar to "enuyir thozhiyay" from Kangalal Kaidhu Sei
(another GREAT song)
3. Oru Koodai Sunlight
This song is fairly decent and definitley pumps you up..but the beats
sound too much like a Lil' John song....i'm sure some touchign up
will do wonders...but the version i heard doesn't have that magic
quality which we asscoiate with ARR...it's the type of song that many
other MD's can compose...not upto snuff....the singer is awesome
though...whoever it is....
VERDICT: dissapointing stuff!....i can't wait till April 4th...i hope
the official soundtrack of Sivaji continues the mind boggling track
record of ARR+Shankar (considering their previous albums
together..more consistent than ARR + Mani Ratnam!)
