Hi as such the sivaji audio is out and most of you would have heard it I believe… I will start from best then go to the good and reserve the bad for last…
1. *Orukoodai Sunlight* – pick of the album… Absolutely new style… to Thamizh… the hip hop… awesome… Though at first when I got the 40 min sample… I thought it was some African or Spanish song… It took time for me to realize that it was my own Thamizh song… and it is from sivaji… cos I read the lyrics orukoodai sunlight earlier in some blog… Whatever it is… this is going to be a mega hit song… that's for sure… very very very very very attractive… 2. *Sahara* – By Vijay Yesudoss… He is really good… I think it's a pathos version… amazing flute bits… haunting melody… it's ineffable… gives goose bump when he finishes the last line of the pallavi and starts again… ARR strikes… and the good thing is he strikes very hard… and I think the second part I would appreciate more when I see the movie… sure it is some situational song…. 3. *Adhiradi *– As the song rightly suggests it's an Adhiradi song… which again I am sure you will like in first instance… Musically I think none of the existing music director can even compete with ARR… They are not even half of what ARR is… This is what I felt when I heard this song… A complex melody handled with ease… Really I admire him for creating a melody like this… Its typical ARR peppy number… esp. the bongos which come when the words "BILLA RANGA BASHA THAN IVAN PISTOL PESUM BESHA THAN" is sung… is really awesome… it has nice early & mid 80's touches in it… To cap it all it is Rahman who has sung this song… Probably I would say he is both the plus and the minus for this song… His voice gives the needed flavor to the song… but except for the line which I have written above… I couldn't understand even a single word… it sounded to me as if ARR is singing in some Egyptian or some Greek or Latin… definitely not Thamizh… of course as I will be listening to the songs again and again I am sure to understand the lyrics at a later point of time… 4. *Sahana* – Typical ARR melody… Amazing tune which steals your heart in the first instance… Everything is good about this song except for Udit Narayan's voice… He is bad… That magical voice which I used adore in Eh Ajnabi, Hum Rahi Jabho Mastana, Kadhalikum Penin, Kuluvalliley, etc. is no more evident and of course his pronunciation of Thamizh words is really really bad… goes without saying… ARR could have gone for some other singer… About Chinmayee… Now she has become ARR's regular singer… she is as good as she was in Tera Bina, Guru… 5. *Vaji Vaji* – if I should appreciate something about this song I would say it is lyrics… really nice… but in vain… Madhushree… I don't get it why Rahman is using her in Thamizh… she is really horrible in pronunciation… she is killing Thamizh no doubt about it… she is good when she sings hindi songs… Just like Snape and Prof. Umbridge of Harry Potter… I am not able to say who is worse whether it is Udit or Madhu… The clarity of lyrics is very essential for the success of song… May be I might like this song when I see the movie…. Hopefully… of course there are some good elements in this song… esp. the 3rd bgm (the one that comes after the 1st charanam)… is really very awesome… ARR proves that no one can handle choir and chorus in a better way than this… that placement made me feel yes I am still listening to ARR song… 6. *Balleilakka* – When I heard this song… that's it… I thought all the hype and everything is just going to go in vain and I felt sivaji is going to be BABA 2… cos this is was the first song I was listening… Worst song of the album… 1st thing the tune was very local not of Rahman's standard… then LYRICS… Sorry to say I didn't expect such a bad lyric for Rajni… I am not talking about the meaning of the lyrics… the meaning was typical Rajni or probably the MGR style, but the words used… Kaveri Aarum Kai Kuthal Arisiyum… not really impressive… I didn't like SPB's voice too… *Be Original and Buy Original CD… * * * *Don't steal the songs from internet… * Yours musically, Karthikeyamurthy.J Long Live ARR and his music….
