Misfitz to perform in Chicago June 9

Miami's all-female a capella group, the Misfitz, will perform at 8 p.m.
Saturday, June 9, at the Sears Center in Chicago with A.R. Rahman, a
world famous Bollywood film composer and performer. Rahman's "3rd
Dimension Tour" will visit cities all over the U.S. and Canada this
summer.
In Chicago, the Misfitz will perform the song "Rang Hai,"
originally from one of Rahman's soundtracks and arranged specifically
for the Misfitz by member Becci Burchett. Burchett worked on the
arrangement last summer when she was in India and proposed the
performance of it to Rahman with the encouragement of Srinivan Krisnas,
director and founder of the Miami ensemble Global Rhythms. Global
Rhythms, also directed by Ethan Sperry, has often performed Rahman's
music.
Performing for the Misfitz tour, in addition to Burchett, are
Kelley Carpenter, Jamie Krakowski, Lisa Mathay, Kate Nolen, Jen North,
Lauren Pulte, Carley Robertson, Molly Schneider, Mary Tudor, Marielle
Wakim and Kristina Wood.
