'Sivaji' in Kerala court
- 08.06.2007
'Sivaji' has gone to a court in Kerala, not because of problems, but for
something good!

Johnny Saharia has bought the distribution rights for Kerala. He paid
2.5 crores for that.

In Kerala, films of other languages have more entertainment tax. It is
35% in municipal corporation jurisdiction, 30% in other town
municipalities and 25% in panchayat. For Malayalam films, there is 10%
discount on these rates.

Johnny wanted this discount for 'Sivaji' too. So he gave a petition to
the court. The above rates have been in effect since 2004. In a surprise
move, the judge has ordered the same discount to be given to 'Sivaji'
too.

It is a surprise that they refused to give water but agreed to give the
discount allowance!
