During my travels through the Dirty South, an Indian friend suggested I
check out a performer named *A.R. Rahman*. My luck was great b/c A.R. & his
band from *Mumbai, India *were traveling through ATL this past weekend. Some
of you might have heard of Mr. Rahman's music (especially all of you *Aishwarya
Rai* fans), but one thing led to another & I was at the show on Saturday
evening.

My two favorite musicians of the night: *The tireless drummer & the flute
guy*.

The drummer was enclosed in what seemed like a small bedroom full of *50
different sized drums*. Besides being locked inside in his drum-room, this
guy would occasionally venture to the middle of the stage beating on one of
his larger drums while the accompanying singer would capture the beats with
his mic.

The flutist, on the other hand, was truly an act to follow through the
evening! The guy had two boxes full of what seemed like a *hundred different
types of flutes*. Through a particular song, the dude would add his *soft
melodies* by casually whipping out one of his many flutes varying in size,
shape, color & construction (some were made of wood or metal, while others
looked like straight-up plastic bongs!).

If you guys ever get a chance to check out this act, I would highly
recommend it!
