Mani Ratnam Mani Ratnam has not lost heart over his problems
with producer Bobby Bedi over the controversial Laajo. According to industry
sources, Ratnam is now all set to revive the film.

It is believed that he also spoke to Aamir Khan who has expressed his desire to
work with Mani Ratnam.

In fact, the filmmaker is having constant meetings with Renzil D'Souza of Rang
De Basanti fame to write the script and is all goes well, the film will finally
go on the floors by next year.

A source from the Mani Ratnam camp says, "Mani Sir is very determined to make
Laajo. Mani Sir was in Mumbai last week where he had a long meeting with
Renzil D'souza. He is constantly in touch with him."

Mani Ratnam was in Mumbai to grace the premiere of his long time associate
Chintu Mahapatra's Jai Jagannath after which he met up with Renzil.

"The reasons for Bobby Bedi not
producing the films are yet unclear. Only Mani Sir and Bobby Bedi would know
the real reasons and disputes surrounding Laajo. However, Mani Sir will go
ahead and make the film irrespective of Bobby Bedi. However it is yet unclear
if Kareena Kapoor is still a part of the film," adds the source.

It is no secret that Aamir is equally determined to work with Mani Ratnam and
has also written in his blog: "I have been very keen to work with Mani for
quite a while now and I was very much looking forward to this. However I think
I'll have to wait longer. The best person to answer why the project is not
happening would be Bobby Bedi and Mani, so I will not venture an explanation.
Sufice to say that it has nothing to do with me. And I hope that I will get to
work with Mani soon."

According to the grapevine, Aamir has also decided not to work with Bobby Bedi
after his unpleasant experience with the producer. The latests buzz is that
Aamir may now produce Laajo.
