July 31, 2007 Sakkaraikatti is director Kala Prabhu (Producer Kalai Puli S.Thanu's son) and Santhanu's (director K. Bhagyaraj's son) debut on the silver screen. The story of Sakkaraikatti is about the love that blossoms between a boy and a girl who live in the same neighbourhood. The movie gives no message about love or opinions about anything. Viewers have to arrive at judgements according to things that appeal to them. A.R. Rahman, impressed by the story, has agreed to compose the music for this movie. Director Kala Prabhu has earlier directed quite a few short films. Vedika is selected as heroine opposite Santhanu in Sakkaraikatti.
