I too would confirm this but would like to add another one which is my favorite, SWADES. I have seen both these films may be 100 times each ? They are absolutely simple to comprehend, and that speaks volumes of Ashutosh Gowarikars command over his art. If you compare both movies, see what is below,
1. Established hero, but new female lead 2. Strong characterisation inspite of many actors and roles, you remember each and every person in both movies. 3. Complete respect to the songs, no half song or just something in background. Full songs. 4. Rahman at his best in EACH AND EVERY SONG, all songs HIT 5. Regarding BGMS, what can I say, THE BEST BGMs are from Swades and Lagaan. 6. Story line with Strong Pro-Indian theme without blatant display. That makes me more and more interested in JODHA AKBAR. We perform RAHMANIA shows in Pune and our programme starts with Ghanana Ghanana and also has Yeh jo des hai tera / Yun hi chala chal and Chale Chalo. We value these two movies very much.
