Even though I don't understand a word of Telugu I was just checking the videos of the semi-finals in the Andhra version of Ooh La La La. I'm surprised that the performances have been extremely poor. It's downright embarassing, even. The last semi-final even has music composer Koti give one of the bands a few not-so-nice words. Can the folks who follow the Andhra show tell us how it is being received there?
I reckon Andhra (Hyderabad in particular) has a lot of carnatic music talent. I was expecting some terrific violinists and vocals at least. Where are all these people? Was this show not publicized well? I hate to say something so crude but I shudder at the prospect of one of these finalists going onto record with ARR.
