- Marilyn Monroe - Had the last few bits of humming missing
- Kelamal - Second interlude was shortned (parthum paramale pogum mehangale)
and also the last part where sriram sings "kokilam kokilam" was edited out.
- The BGM for scene where Vijay meets Shriya (in temple) reminded me very much
of Sahana tune.. (probably the temple setting, hero following herione with his
sidekick lead to it)

ESP thrillers are not completely strange tamil audience. Manivannan's
Nooravathu Naal (Vijaykanth/ Mohan) was entirely based on heroine having ESP
about her own murder, which apparently was a big hit.

Subject: [arr] My ATM movie, BGM review

For the past 3 years, the movie I am watching in cinema theaters are those that
have ARRs music. I had to travel 5+ hrs (to and fro) just to watch the movie.
Reason being, obviously, one magical name - ARR and this is the first Vijay
movie I am watching in a movie hall.

Whistling when ARR's name appears in the screen is biggest pleasure I can
attain and yes it happened when I saw ATM too. As usual, there were lot of
whistles when ARR's name appeared in the screen.

+'s of ATM movie:

1. BGM - electrifying at instances and overall very good. But, we have to keep
in mind that BGM for this movie is a result of record 15 days work (ARR has
himself confirmed this). All you need to create good music is a peaceful
atmosphere where there isn't external stress, tension. But, in this case, ARR
just had 15 days to compose the BGM and still the BGM has turned out to be the
as good as it can be. When you have 45 days to compose BGM (as in Sivaji), BGM
is outstanding throughout the movie and when u have 15 days to compose the BGM,
the result is kind of varies accordingly but only ARR can handle it so
professionally.

Check out for:
a. opening credit
b. ESP theme - electrifying
c. kelamal chorus - especially the initial humming is amazing
d. second half vijay vs vijay fight sequence BGM - superb!
e. final fight sequence BGM

2. Editing - the only thing that makes the movie to move fast is BGM and
editing, not the screenplay. Editing is exceptional throughout the movie..
Especially for ponmagal vandhal song. Hats off to Antony.
3. Special effects - Special effects in fight sequences are mindblowing.
4. Dance - excellent
5. Action - very good
6. Cinematography - good
7. Comedy - good
8. Screenplay - good
9.Story - good

Glad to see a story without another villain. Vijay vs Vijay scenes were
pleasant to watch.

Song picturization:
1. Ponmagal vandhal - Excellent. Well placed in the movie.
2. Maduraku - good
3. Valayapatti - very good but raaga mania done by madhumitha was cut
4. Merlyn Monroe - Good
5. Ella pughazum - dance sequence and song theme dosent match. Also, last 5
secs (hair-raising line) was cut.
6. Kelamal - okay

-ve's of the movie:

1. Blunt climax - Almost everyone were laughing! I really dont understand the
fact how a villain would turn good after hearing few dialouges that are said in
the climax. Had the climax been handled well, it would have given the movie a
new shape as ESP thriller is new to tamil cinema. But, climax was really
screwed up.
2. Song placements were almost here and there. It is an unwritten formula in
tamil cinema that there should be a song sequence 20 minutes before the climax.
Valayappati song was placed awkwardly. Viewers were murmuring, oh my god, a
song came.. uffffff... There was enough room in that plot that it could have
placed in a very good slot.
On the other hand, the way ponmagal song was placed was totally contrasting and
it received lot of whistles. Even maduraiku song received whistles.

Overall the movie is good in the context of a debutant director's movie that
has some electrifying BGM, excpetional editing and special effects.

This movie will run 100 days, not because the movie is good. It is because of
the reason, all vijay movies (for the past 5 years) run for atleast 100 days!

As Rahmaniacs, we have to be satisfied that till Pongal, i.e. for 60+ days, we
can hear ATM songs in all tamil channels and radio..

Long live ARR..
ARR - Bin tere kya jeena!
