Straight from AG himself at the JA forums. Finally, we have a date to look forward to and mark. I guess I was expecting more in the way of announcements simply because this is an AG production and a big epic film. With a smaller film and/or less capable and less respected director, I wouldn't have been as impatient or have raised expectations. It certainly is creditable of him to announce the date even now, as requested by fans and to make himself visible and available at the forum.
So, Vijay, you were correct about the two week time span.
