It's a magnum opus that's been jinxed from the start, and after several
delays due to accidents and personal crises, Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Jodhaa
Akbar' will now release on February 15.

'Jodhaa Akbar has been 'jinxed', with one incident after another delaying
the making of the film and eventually its release.

The year 2007 surely was not a good one for the director 'Jodhaa Akbar'
which was slated for release towards the end of 2007 was pushed to Januray
25 and now even that date has been pushed further.

It all started when Hrithik Roshan faced a car accident on his way to Karjat
for his shoot, and then came the wedding of the year the 'Ash-Abhi' marriage
that virtually stalled the shooting for quite some time.

After her marriage Aishwarya's foreign projects like 'Pink Panther' only
added to the extensive delay in the completion of the film.

But just when the entire industry was all set for the release of this
much-awaited historical masterpeice came yet another blow - the director
himself fell ill with severe back pain - so post production work could not
be completed and the film will now only hit the theatres Februrary 15!

That is a delay of almost 3 weeks, and if that wasn't all now even the
length of the film has become an issue with the director now deciding to
scrap two songs from his period drama in order to shorten the length of the
film - not good news for the film.

For now though the film's tentative release is February 15, at the rate the
film is facing problems we wouldn't be surprised to hear yet another delay
in its release now that the industry is abuzz with the news that it might
get postponed to April this year.

And yet another personal crisis affecting the Bachchans - the demise of Teji
Bachchan - might just affect the promotional work of the film with Ash
staying away from all the hype.

It already seems that the film's excessive delay has had its affect on
audience interest, so in the new year all we can wish Ashutosh is loads of
luck!
