Khwaja Moinuddeen Chisti was a very pious man born in the then Eastern Persia
and who also came to India to spread the word of God as ordained by the
Almighty himself. There is a bit about Khwaja on this blog
http://prithvirajchauhan-aishwarya.blogspot.com/

This blog is a very well researched piece by my sister about the great
Prithviraj Chauhan of Ajmer. But there is also a section about the Khwaja.

Feel free to post any messages or feedback.

  Thanks!

Khwaja (RA) is the direct decendent of Prophet Mohamed (SAW)in Islam.
He came from Iran and worked among poor people irrespective of thier
religion and preached love, harmony and peace. So he is called GHARIB
NAWAZ, [helper of the poor]. He advocated sufism,
[Sufism:http://khwajagharibnawaz.com/sufism.htm ] His shrine is in
Ajmer, where a bomb was placed recently killing the gatherings there. I
remember reading about this shrine and the word "Gharib Nawaz", in
Delhi Rao's IAS main exam notes several years ago. Some one from
Rajastan can give us more information.

Thanks
