Rahman, who continues to enthrall the nation with his mesmerizing music, was given NDTV's Music Award. There was another Tamil hero in the prestigious list. Vishwanathan Anand was named NDTV's Sportsman of the Year. The King Khan of Indian cinema, Shahrukh Khan, won a special NDTV award for his contribution to cinema in 2007. The function was attended by dignitaries, celebrities and other prominent personalities.
