I happened to watch a stage performance of a musical group who was introduced in the Kochi Seafood fair as "Chithra Iyer Group" ( 08'th Feb in Kochi Le Meridien ).
The announcer said that Chithra is a playback singer. The notable fact of the show was 3 songs back to back of Rahman. First was "Chandralekha from Thiruda Thiruda", next one from ATM (forgot song name) and third was "Mayya Mayya from Guru". The group consisted of 3 violinists / 2 guitarists / 1 tabla / 1 drums and 1 rhythm programming / 1 flute / 2 male vocalists and Chithra. The lady had excellent voice and stage presence. Her voice was very close to the singer of "Chandralekha" song. I even enquired with the encyclopedia of Rahmanica ( Amith Chandhran ) who informed me that Chandralekha was sung by Anupama. Has she sung for Rahman ? Dinesh Vaidya
