Bachchan family bonding at Jodhaa Akbar premiere Anil Sinanan, Times Bollywood Film Critic "It doesn't matter if Abhishek couldn't make it. For us, everyday is Valentine's Day," Aishwarya Rai gushed when she was asked if she minded not being with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan on February 14. The occasion was the Mumbai premiere of the long delayed Rai starrer, Jodhaa Akbar, which credits her for the first time as 'Aishwarya Rai Bachchan'. Rai's parents in law, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, attended the event but son Abhishek was noticeable by his absence. Abhishek finally arrived around midnight on a delayed internal flight from Jaipur where he had been shooting. Rai has every reason to celebrate. The almost four hour historical epic has received critical and commercial success in India and abroad. It is currently in the UK box office Top 10. Is Ash worried that mainstream audiences may be put off by the length of Bollywood films? She tells me: "We like the song and dance, emotional drama and duration of our films. This may be alien to some but global audiences will adapt to Bollywood as it is." Fans of the golden couple can look forward to seeing them sizzle on screen again in Mani Ratnam's next film. Looks like plans for a baby B has been put on indefinite hold! *Spotted! AR Rahman at the London West End private advance screening of Jodhaa Akbar last Wednesday. The musical genius was too shy to address the audience, preferring instead to slip away once the film had started. * -- regards, Vithur AIMING TO BE A TRUE RAHMANIAC
