------------------------- Musical whiz AR Rahman may have many awards and honors to boast of and many a Filmfare awards (Indian counterpart of the Oscars) proudly graces his honorary stands. However, the 53rd Filmfare award is all the more special for the singer and musician since it is his first ever nomination for the esteemed category of Best Playback Singer. AR Rahman's eyes glint with joy as he speaks over his nomination for the song `Tere Bina' from the film `Guru'. But the battle isn't any easy for the songster who has been pitted against biggies and worthies like KK, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh and Shaan for the award. Expressing his elation over the nomination, shy Rahman says, "Guru is not an ordinary film for me. It is an extraordinary one. I feel good that people are acknowledging me as a good singer. I was not well when the song was recorded. So, it sounded shaky. Filmfare has become almost like a home for me now." With industry bigshot singers vying for the title, it would be interesting to see who wins the award. The verdict is all set to go out on February 24, 2008, as the event unfurls the prized winner of this coveted award.
