I know another person like you ( he is not married though ) who, also learnt TAMIL only to understand the Rahman songs. And now this person is fluent in almost all languages in India and certainly all of the South Indian languages. He is Amith Chandhran from Mumbai (Maharashtrian). He translated VELLAI POOKKAL into Marathi / Hindi / English etc....
