Day Two of the 10th Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week saw designer Tarun
Tahiliani at his opulent best and the clean cuts of Varun Bahl.

With qawali singers storming in on the runway to haunting tunes of AR
Rehman, Tarun Tahiliani sent down yarns of fabric wrapped and draped around
lithe feminine frames in burnished gold.

There were sarees, dresses and flowing gowns all sprinkled with what
Tahiliani thinks is his very own colour – gold.

He said in his press release that this is his tribute to Christian Dior, the
man legendary for re-inventing post-war European fashion by using
never-seen-before amount of cloth per dress, an unheard of luxury during the
war.

Everything about Tahiliani's collection had a nod to excess, from the dancer
on the runway to the bejewelled broaches, belts and tiaras that have become
his signature style.
