Ask yourself this question: Do you really realize the true depth of ARR's talents?
No matter how long I've known ARR's music or praised him in my own mind, many times, I just can't get my head around how in the name of God is he able to compose within so many genres of music! It's one thing if a composer is dominant within his regional or cultural sphere, but to create supreme music that emcompasses so many world styles, genres, etc. is just beyond mind blowing. Just today, I listened to a Hindu Bhajan, a trance song, a Sufi Qawali, an Arabic track, Chinese music, Western classical symphony, Tamil folk, Rock, Jazz, Reggae. All one composer.......ARR. There is no way on earth that a mere mortal can do this WITHOUT divine influence. Rahman is living in two worlds.....one with us, and one with the almighty. And we are simply blessed that he can transport music so divinely influenced and send it to our longing hearts and souls. There are many amazing things about this world, its people. Most often, I can grapple amazing feats due to mind over matter, hard work, determination, etc. But, I just simply cannot imagine that sheer volume of talent ARR possesses in being able to simply command such wide range of music with such prowess and elan. Just think about it. We know how amazing ARR is, but do we REALLY understand the depth and enormity of his talent? I don't think we or anyone else does, neither does ARR himself. Wish more of the world could appreciate what I'm trying to describe here. There have been many composers who have come and gone who have been simply genius and amazing within their sphere of music, but NONE....NOBODY EVER has commanded as wide of a range of music as ARR. In my books, he is simply one of if not THE MOST broadly talented composer the earth has ever witnessed, only not yet realized or appreciated by all. Simple praise just cannot do justice to his talent.
