Your film Black & White opened to critical acclaim but garnered poor
collections.
Weintentionally made this film for a niche market at the lowest cost. Igot
what I wanted—critical acclaim and public appreciation just as wereceived for
Iqbal. Also, it has shown an improvement in collectionsevery day. I am happy
with the outcome.
How’s your ambitious project Yuvraaj shaping up?
Yuvraajis 65 % complete and it will be releasing in October 2008 during
thefestive season. It’s a mass entertainer all the way.
Rumours suggest that Yuvraaj has a lot of similarities with Milos Forman’s
Hollywood classic Amadeus?
Yes. Yuvraaj is similar in stature with A R Rahman giving the score—if you are
talking in terms of blockbuster musicals.
Is your film with Madhuri Dixit happening?
Weare still at the scripting stage. But there is no solid plan orcommitment as
such. Madhuri has always been my favourite actress.
What other projects can we expect from Mukta Arts?
Weare planning many good and big films in 2008 and 2009. Mukta Arts willbe
giving breaks to many new directors. It’s an exciting phase for usnow.
