The Channel adjudged Superstar Rajinikanth as the Favourite Hero of the year for his outstanding Shivaji: The Boss. His film also shared the honour with Vijay's Pokkiri in the most popular awards category. Vijay was also selected as the best entertainer of the year for his Pokkiri. Amir's Paruthi Veeran has been adjudged the Best Film. Vetrimaran won best director award for Polladhavan. Both Paruthi Veeran and Polladhavan also took home three other jury awards. Karthi and Anjali won the best debutant awards for Paruthi Veeran and Kattradhu Tamil respectively. Priyamani was adjudged the Best Actress for her mind-blowing performance in Paruthi Veeran. All awards were distributed in the grand ceremony held at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Most of the award winners attended the event and collected their awards.
