I got a phenomenal response. Lots of downloads and appreciation mails. It was a great feeling then. Out of the many mails I recieved, one was from One of the dormant fans on this forum. He loved the tracks and asked more details about our group. I thanked him for his appreciation and support. //forgot.erase.period.// four years later one september morning I recieve a mail from the same guy asking if I was interested in scoring music for his period film. //refresh.rewind. play.// With arms open I accepted the offer only to realize later that the guy was the Assistant Director of GURU and one of Mani Ratnams aides. The humble and modest Bejoy Nambiar. Alongwith my close friend Krishnan, I scored music for this film "Rahu". We completed the soundtrack in 5 months starting December 2007. It was the most challenging project we have ever done, though we guided all through by Bejoy, who loves to experiment and has a great taste for music. The soundtrack features a Sufi Song "Betaabi" featuring Murtuza Mustafa and Qadir Mustafa, sons of the legendary Ustaad Ghulam Mustafa Khan Saab who have previously sung NOOR-UN-ALA-NOOR from Meenaxi, Tere Bina from Guru, Maula from Mangal Pandey for A.R.Rahman. arrrahmanfans.com has been a great channel through which we got connected, and created some mind blowing music. A big thanks to Gopal for starting this forum. Bejoy is also known for his ambitious award winning debut movie titled, Reflections, (2006) featuring Padmashri Mohanlal.Bejoy is married to Juhi Babbar, the daughter of the actor Raj Babbar. Bejoy is currently involved in the pre-production for his Hollywood venture for Ashok Amritrajs Production House. Prashant Pillai, who has had a short stint with A.R.Rahman in Chennai, scores music for ads and short/feature films and is currently based in Pune. To his cerdit, Prashant has released Pune's First theme song Album titled 'Amhi Puneri' which was released by Shri. A.R.Rahman in May 2006. As a sound engineer he has recorded artists in the likes of Hariharan, Sax Raja, Shankar Mahadevan, Palakkad Sriram, Murtuza and Qadir Mustafa, Munna Shaukat Ali, V Dakshinamurthy and more. The Radio Industry has helped him immensely in carrying forward his music to greater heights. He was awarded at the India Radio Forum 2007 Excellence in Radio Awards (ERA) for Best Music Based Promo Single Spot during his stint with Big Fm in Chennai. Currently he is heading a private FM radio station in Pune. K.S.Krishnan, is a versatile and talented singer. He is trained in Carnatic Classical singing. Before teaming up with Prashant he has earlier scored music with Shardul for FTII graduate films. He is an ardent movie lover and has done a Film Appreciation course from FTII. Krishnan is good at song writing, and has written numerous songs. He has sung for many ad jingles scored in Pune and Mumbai. Krishnans' got a great sense of humour and is a man full of whacky out-of-the-world ideas and concepts. He is currently based out of Mumbai working for one of the top global finance companies.
