MUMBAI: The Idea IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Awards 2008 
will be honouring Shyam Benegal, AR Rahman and Mumtaz. Pioneered by 
Wizcraft International, IIFA will be held in Bangkok from 6 to 8 
June. 

The award for outstanding contribution to Indian cinema will be 
presented to Benegal, while Rahman will be awarded for outstanding 
contribution by an Indian in international cinema. Mumtaz will be 
honoured for her achievement in Indian Cinema. 


Wizcraft International Entertainment director Wiz Sabbas Joseph 
said, "It is an honour for us at IIFA, to present the special 
category awards to these stalwarts. Not only have they entertained 
millions of fans across the globe but have also inspired them with 
their school of work. Their master craft left a mark in the industry 
and has significantly contributed towards the growth and progress of 
the Indian film industry."
