Ilayaraja too has done some fantastic acoustic guitar and violin solos. Every composer has used solos in different ways.
I particularly like ARR's use of the lower notes in the flute. Sridhar once said in an interview that ARR will sometimes try to get just the breath/wind sound of a flute. ARR is probably not the first to use the flute like this, but for me it is the most distinctive. Adam Rapa's trumpet parts in Tu Bole Main Boloon are excellent. That loose, jazzy sound, is something new for Indian music, I think. --- In [email protected], "Chord" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Don't make such assumptions. I know a lot about Indian music.
