Guru Dutt
Ad filmmaker Shivindra Singh Dungarpur, who is best known for the Titan
advertisements with Aamir Khan, is all set to make a film on Guru Dutt.
Dungarpur
has approached Aamir for the title role but Aamir being his usual self
has asked them to come back with a complete script. The film’s script,
which is written by Anuraag Kashyap, is based on the life and
experiences of Guru Dutt.
Our source said, “Shivindra is a big
fan of Guru Dutt has already registered the title of his film as Guru
Dutt. Currently, he is busy doing research on the late filmmaker.”
Dungarpur is making the film along with UTV Motion Pictures.
The
source added, “They met Aamir Khan for the title role but Aamir in his
quintessential style asked them to get back only when the entire script
was ready.”
Aamir Khan
Aamir loved the idea of a film on Guru Dutt but will say a final ‘Yes’
only after taking a look at the script. However, everything is kept
under wraps for now.
When contacted, Dungarpur confirmed the news but refused to give any details on
the film.
He
said, “Yes, it is true that I am making a film on Guru Dutt but it is
very early to disclose anything. I am working on the film with Anuraag
Kashyap and Karan Bali who are both helping me with the research. But,
nothing is finalised as yet.”
When asked about Aamir being a
part of the film, Dungarpur denied having approached anybody and said
that casting would begin only after the script was ready.
