Composed with typical *REHMAN* beats….it has everything to touch your soul. Pardon me for saying that. There might be a number of people who will not agree to me, especially the ones who have grown up on singings of *Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd. Rafi and Manna Dey*. But here's an album which consists of both the flavors, a bit of OLD IS GOLD types and a sound quantity of hip-hop too. It's a masterpiece for all ages and an item to be treasured. If an amazing music director like REHMAN and genius lyrical gem like* GULZAR SAAB* work together, there is no second opinion in the quality of music they are going to deliver. This is what they have proven in DIL SE……… Talking about the songs <http://bollywood-songs.org/dil-sere/#>, four different languages have been used to compose the lyrics- Hindi, Urdu, Tamil and Punjabi. So the album has some or the other thing to suit everyone's taste. A total of six songs are there, and each of them is unique in its class: 1) *Chaiyya Chaiyya* - With typical Rehman style, Urdu is used in bulk. Is shot with *Shahrukh Khan* and sexy *Malaika Arora* dancing on the top of a train. And guess what, sharukh has done this dangerous job himself without using any stunt man. This is what you call as rehman effect……. This song became a rage of that time, and was a favourite at discs and parties. Sung by *Sukhwinder Singh *and *Sapna Awasthi* it was nothing other then a gift for music lovers. 2)*Dil Se re*: Sung by *A.R. Rehman* himself, a combination of desi as well as Hollywoodish feel, was a major highlight of the album. Brilliantly sung and the smoothness of lyrics reflected Rehman's true brilliance as a music director and Gulzar's lyrical mastery. 3) *Ek Ajnabee*: The song was specially framed for lovey-dovey couples. One of the best of the lot. Sung by great *Udit Narayan* who has given his best and had left no margin for error. Lyrics cant get better than this and what else can add to its perfection is that a single music instrument is used almost throughout the song. 4)* Satrangi Re:* Passion…….Passion……True Passion…….. Be it picturization or the musical intensity, this song reflects true passion. Sung by *Sonu Nigam, * now no more questions about the quality of song as the name SONU NIGAM itself stands for quality!!!!!!!!! 5) *Jiya Jale*: Magic of *Lata Mangeshkar* everywhere…..effortlessly sung, as usual by the singing sensation and was another gem of the album. Quite famous among the love birds. 6) *Thaiyya Thaiyya* – With almost same composition as that of chaiyya-chaiyya, this song was not picturized in the film. It is jeweled by precious Punjabi lyrics and is unique in its own way. Very few albums delivers the music that reaches out to a wide variety of cultures, traditions and people. Dil Se is one such album with a universal feel to it. Thats Dil Se for you. ( POSTED FROM AN URL which cannot be circulated ...) -- regards, Vithur HELP EVER; HURT NEVER; LOVE ALL; SERVE ALL
