Raagapella is Stanford University's all-male South Asian focus A Cappella
group. They are dedicated to music while pursuing undergraduation,
graduation and even post-doctorate at Stanford University, United States.
Raagapella is a combination of "Raaga" and "A Cappella" words originated
from Indian and Latin languages.

Raaga refers to the melody of Indian classical music and A Cappella is the
Latin word for a style of music with pure vocal and no musical
accompaniments. This group of musicians are famous in America as they add
South Asian flavour to their music life in the University.

The team is popular as they present quality fusion music while entertaining
South Asian audiences with well-known Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi and Telugu
tunes. The team is well-versed in popular Bollywood music, apart from having
the knowledge of diverse range of songs from traditional Karnatak music to
alternative rock in store.

Raagapella was started at Stanford University in 2002 by a group of Indian
students. Raagapella is a unique group of musicians who perform music with
sounding of instruments like Veena, Violin, Piano, Guitar, Flute, etc.,
without musical accompaniments.

They have performed music in September 2006 at the Hollywood Bowl to an
audience of over 15,000 alongside Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman. Again in
June 2007, they performed music along with A.R.Rahman, Hariharan,Chitra,
Sukhwinder and Sivamani.

Raagapella music team is touring India in June 2008 and performing music in
Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
