*Let's meet in Marmayogi again* Awards are not new to Rahman.. Recently, Chennai Rotary Club gas conferred him with the "Lifetime Achievement Award".. Generally, Rahman used to sit shy on the stage.. But this time, he made everyone happy by his sensitive plus a jolly way of speech..
He said "I'm very proud of being recognised in my birth place.. I'm given a kind request of not to sit saying 'All Praises to God' alone, so i add up, I submit this to my Father".. He also called his wife, Saira Banu on to the stage and introduced her.. Recorded wishes of VIP's were played on the big screen in between along with Rahman's songs.. "Hey, u should be fine always !!" (Yow.. Nee nalla irukanum ya !!) said Lyricist Vaali in his usual rightful tone.. Rahman couldnt control his laughter hearing this.. SPB wished Rahman very sensitively.."Rahman and I share a bond.. It's Rahman's father Sekar who introduced me in Malayalam.. When I sang the first song "Kaadhal Rojavae" for Rahman, he said 'Sir, Here there are many big people.. I can survive in this field only for some 5 years, after that I've to pack my things'.. After 5 years, I sang again in his music.. Then he laughed & said 'I think God has given me 5 more years of grace period'.. And recently when I sang in his music, he said 'I think God is extending my grace period'.. He is a simple man who never takes victory to his head.. Even if anyone asks him a tricky question, he escapes the question without hurting or underrating anyone.. Rahman, U should live for many years and bring pride to Indian Music".. Rahman nodded his head seeing the screen as soon as SPB said this.. Greetings, Rahman.. You wouldnt have expected this Marmayogi here.. Rotary Club has conferred u with this Lifetime Achievement Award in such a young age.. But this award is also for ur achievements which are going to follow in the next 50 years..
