ok, i watched Jaane tu this afternoon and it is worth watching
once.. overall, the movie is good cool. i will agree with rajeev masand's
comments on this movie. movie on the whole has been packaged well but lacks
depth.. this is just another love story and music being an important element in
the movie. actors do their job well and its fun watching them on screen.
screenplay is good and makes the movie stand apart from the boring movies
saga.. but that's all the movie by itself offers.. a conventional love story
where friends realize the love, when they start to have new relationships. .
this formula has been handled and we've seen many times.. but there is enough
energy and ambience that will make the movie a box-office success. a very good
example is the initial reviews the movie has receieved from the film critics..
esp, this movie has overtaken love story 2050 both in music and movie, which by
itself is the first and foremost success :)

ok, coming to the important element of the movie.. songs and BGM

the album had 8 songs, out of which only three songs were picturised fully.
kahin to and tu bole atleast had its presence in patches and remix was played
when the end credits rolled. but jaane tu mere kya hai song totally disappeared
in the movie.. i wonder y the director takes precious time of ARR, making him
to compose the songs, and doesnt use it in the movie.. this is really bad..
anyway, complaints apart, the star songs were picturized well and it has
reached the target audience. this is great news.. movies promotion has been
really good and people have gone gaga over papu cant dance saala song.. i
noticed people shaking their shoulder when the song was shown in the screens.

BGMs - overall, the BGM was "fulfilling".. music elevates the movie in the
scenes that really need it and stays calm at correct instances. needless to say
that ARR is a master in creating background scores. his musical presence in the
movie is simply outstanding. it just elevates the movie to a whole different
level. i loved the party loops in the movie.. there were 4 different party
loops in the movie. two in the first half and two in the second half.. there
was a "wassup" song with remix beat.. it was terrific.. with the dolby mix, the
beat was echoing all around the movie hall. the disco beats were simply
magnificient. i love them.

some superb scores
dream theme (or black riders theme as Gopal calls),
crowd cheers jai
piano theme whengenelia brother and jai tries to find a rat - excellent stuff!!
party themes 1,2,3,4
the BGM after kahin to song commons to a lightning stop, is just awesome..

horse ride scene BGM
climax scene BGM is excellent..

i vl have to watch the movie again just for the BGMs.. anyway, it will be a fun
watch..

past: still JA BG scores are lingering in my ears.. cant beat it!!!

future: eagerly waiting to hear BGs for Ghajini.. thats going to be ROYAL treat
for all rahmaniacs bcuz that movie *demands* powerful BG score. that movie will
need emotional BGMs that will convey the

1. thirst of revenge,

2. depth of love and
3. power of action.

ARR will handle it in an amazing way.. but how amazing will it be??

countdown... 150 days to go...

that's it for now!!
